New to the SCA?

Welcome to the SCA! Welcome home!

Greetings to all of you who are new to the SCA (or returning from long ago)!

Who are we?

The Barony of Wyvernwoode is a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) located in Hillsborough County, Florida. This group is a local branch of the Kingdom of Trimaris. The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask them on the Wyvernwoode Populace Facebook Group or feel free to e mail our Baronial Chatelaine (chatelaine@wyvernwoode.org) Check out the SCA Newcomers's Portal

Who do I contact to find out more about Wyvernwoode or the SCA?

If you are new to the SCA and want to know more about us, please contact our Chatelaine.

Who is our Chatelaine and what do they do?

A Chatelaine is an officer who acts as a kind of liaison between the SCA and the modern world. They help introduce new participants into the SCA by not only introducing them to experienced members, but also by teaching them about SCA and Kingdom traditions, customs and rules and helping new participants fit in.

Our current Chatelaine is: Grímr Jǫtun-Bjarnarson mundanely known as Sam Gifford.
